The agency is expected to announce the first approval this week.  List of Dogecoin ETFs Awaiting SEC Approval  Rex Shares Osprey DOGE ETF Application filed in January 2025. Instead of using Form S-1 and 19b-4, the asset managers filed their Dogecoin ETF under a simpler process based on the Investment Company Act of 1940 (called the “40 Act”).  This allows ETFs to launch faster because it only requires filing a prospectus. The ETF also becomes effective automatically after 75 days unless the SEC objects. REX and Osprey was expected to start trading last week, but was ultimately pushed. Bloomberg analysts say the next deadline for approval is September 18, 2025. But the SEC has not confirmed it yet.  Bitwise Dogecoin spot ETF Application filed in January 2025 via Form 19b-4 for a spot Dogecoin ETF with Coinbase Custody managing DOGE holdings and Bank of New York Mellon handling cash assets. Later, it also applied for the Aptos ETF in March. It proposed to offer a spot DOGE ETF under commodity trust rules.  The SEC acknowledged the application and delayed the decision, which was originally scheduled for June 15, 2025. Now, the deadline for the final decision is November 12, 2025.  Grayscale Investment DOGE ETF Application filed in March 2025 via Form S-1. In de praktijk betekent dit dat een crypto hack via AI niet eens geavanceerde technologie hoeft te gebruiken. Een slechte prompt of een onschuldige integratie kan een volledig protocol blootstellen. Ethereum nieuws van de afgelopen maanden laat zien hoe groot de belangstelling voor AI crypto is, maar ook hoe weinig rekening wordt gehouden met de risico’s. De aanleiding tot Buterins waarschuwing was een video van Eito Miyamura, maker van het AI data platform EdisonWatch. Daarin liet hij zien hoe ChatGPT na een update gevoelige e-maildata kon lekken, alleen door een gemanipuleerde kalenderuitnodiging te sturen. Zonder dat de ontvanger iets bevestigde, kon de AI worden overgenomen en kon het instructies van de aanvaller uitvoeren. Volgens Buterin bewijst dit dat menselijke controle onmisbaar blijft. Als AI zonder toezicht beslissingen maakt binnen een Ethereum protocol, opent dat de deur voor misbruik. Zeker omdat snel stijgende crypto projecten vaak miljarden aan waarde beheren en een enkele kwetsbaarheid al tot een massale crypto hack kan leiden. Het alternatief dat Buterin voorstelt In plaats van ‘naïeve AI governance’ promoot Buterin een model dat hij ‘info finance’ noemt. Hierbij is er geen enkelvoudig AI model dat alles beslist. In plaats daarvan ontstaat een open markt waar meerdere modellen concurreren om de beste antwoorden te leveren. Cruciaal in dit concept is dat resultaten door iedereen gecontroleerd kunnen worden en dat er een menselijke jury is die bij twijfel een goed besluit neemt.
