RWA

RWA (Real World Assets) refers to the tokenization of tangible assets—such as real estate, private credit, and government bonds—on the blockchain. By bringing traditional financial instruments on-chain, RWA protocols like Ondo and Centrifuge provide DeFi users with stable, real-yield opportunities. In 2026, the RWA sector is a multi-trillion-dollar bridge between TradFi and DeFi, enabling fractional ownership and global liquidity for previously illiquid assets. Canadian Dollar tumbles to three-month low, retail sales fail to lift sentiment

Canadian Dollar tumbles to three-month low, retail sales fail to lift sentiment

The post Canadian Dollar tumbles to three-month low, retail sales fail to lift sentiment appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. USD/CAD trades near 1.3920, its highest level since May 21, extending a four-day winning streak. Stronger US Dollar underpins gains as investors position ahead of Powell’s Jackson Hole speech at 14:00 GMT. Canadian Dollar under pressure despite solid June Retail Sales rebound. The Canadian Dollar (CAD) continues to lose ground against the US Dollar (USD) on Friday, marking its fourth consecutive daily decline, as the Greenback strengthens across the board. At the time of writing, the USD/CAD pair is trading around 1.3920, its strongest level since May 21. The Canadian Dollar remains under pressure despite the release of stronger-than-expected June retail sales earlier on Friday. Headline sales rose 1.5% MoM, in line with expectations, while sales excluding autos jumped 1.9%, surpassing the market forecast of 1.1%. May’s figures were also revised slightly higher, softening the depth of the prior month’s decline. However, the upbeat June report was offset by Statistics Canada’s advance estimate, which pointed to a 0.8% decline in July retail sales, highlighting the fragility of consumer demand. This forward-looking weakness limited any immediate support for the Loonie, especially as global sentiment remains centered on the Federal Reserve’s next policy steps. The upside in the US Dollar comes as market participants turn cautious ahead of Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell’s highly anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium at 14:00 GMT. Investors are looking for fresh policy signals after mixed economic data and hawkish remarks from Fed officials during the week, which prompted traders to scale back near-term rate cut expectations. According to the CME FedWatch Tool, markets now assign roughly a 70% probability of a 25 basis-point (bps) cut in September, down from near-certainty just a week earlier. Boston Fed President Susan Collins struck a cautious tone on Friday, telling Bloomberg TV that the US economy’s fundamentals…

Barrick Mining’s Gold output rebounds: Can momentum build ahead?

Barrick Mining’s Gold output rebounds: Can momentum build ahead?

The post Barrick Mining’s Gold output rebounds: Can momentum build ahead? appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Barrick Mining Corporation (B Quick) saw higher gold production in the second quarter, delivering 797,000 ounces, a 5% increase from the prior quarter. This follows a 30% sequential decline in the first quarter to 758,000 ounces, the lowest quarterly output in recent years, mainly impacted by the suspension of operations at the Loulo-Gounkoto mine.  The upside in the second quarter was driven by Nevada Gold Mines, which saw an 11% increase from the previous quarter. Pueblo Viejo also delivered strong production, with output surging 28% on the back of higher throughput and continued progress on the expansion. The company expects attributable gold production in the range of 3.15-3.5 million ounces for 2025, excluding production from Loulo-Gounkoto. Higher production from Pueblo Viejo, Turquoise Ridge, Porgera and Kibali, along with stable performance across Carlin and Cortez, is expected to be offset by reduced production across Veladero and Phoenix.   Moving ahead, the company is expected to continue the production momentum in the second half. Barrick expects 2025 production to be 54% weighted in the second half, with the strongest output expected in the fourth quarter. The consensus estimates call for a production of 828,000 ounces and 940,000 ounces in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, reflecting a sequential increase.  Among its major peers, Newmont Corporation (NEM) reported a roughly 4% sequential decline in gold production for the second quarter, reaching 1.48 million ounces. The closing of non-core asset sales weighed on Newmont’s output. Newmont, which has shifted its focus to Tier 1 assets by divesting non-core businesses, anticipates maintaining its expected gold production for 2025 at about 5.9 million ounces.  Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM) logged gold production of 866,029 ounces in the second quarter, down roughly 0.9% from the prior quarter. Agnico Eagle remains on track to meet its 2025 gold production target of around 3.3-3.5…

Ethereum Whales Next Bets? Searching for Next Big Winner While Cardano & XRP Slips Lower

Ethereum Whales Next Bets? Searching for Next Big Winner While Cardano & XRP Slips Lower

The post Ethereum Whales Next Bets? Searching for Next Big Winner While Cardano & XRP Slips Lower appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Large holders of Ethereum are moving their funds as popular coins like Cardano and XRP trend downward. The search for a promising new project is underway, sparking speculation across the market. Attention is turning to where these influential players might invest next, as recent shifts hint at a possible shake-up among top digital assets. Cardano (ADA) Source: TradingView ADA sits between $0.81 and $1.07 after a choppy week. The coin slid 7.55% in 7 days and 5.20% in a month but is still up 10.72% over 6 months. Buyers point to that long-term climb, while sellers highlight the fresh dip. The 10-day average at $0.86 hugs the 100-day at $0.88, showing a flat trend. RSI at 46.13 and Stochastic at 38.29 lean slightly oversold. MACD is a touch below zero, hinting that downward drive is weak and could flip fast. A break over $1.17 would mark a 15% pop and could push ADA toward $1.42, roughly 35% higher. Staying above $0.86 keeps that path open. Dropping under $0.81 risks a slide to $0.66, about 20% down, and in a hard sell-off $0.41, nearly 50% lower. For now the mixed signals suggest sideways action, yet the 6-month rise gives bulls a slight edge for an upward move in the next few weeks. XRP (XRP) Source: TradingView XRP trades between $2.95 and $3.29 after a rough stretch. The token slid 6.96% in 1 week and 19.35% in 1 month, erasing most spring gains. Even so, it still shows an 11.27% rise over 6 months, proving buyers did not flee for good. Momentum hints at a pause. Price sits a shade above the 10-day average of $2.86 and almost level with the 100-day line at $2.94. RSI at 44.3 is neutral, while a 27.99 stochastic leans oversold. The MACD is a hair below…

Major Bitcoin Warning From Top Crypto Analyst Shocks Investors

Major Bitcoin Warning From Top Crypto Analyst Shocks Investors

The post Major Bitcoin Warning From Top Crypto Analyst Shocks Investors appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Bitcoin’s future is once again under scrutiny after a leading crypto researcher sounded alarms over the network’s long-term security and governance model. Cyber Capital founder Justin Bons argued that Bitcoin’s halving cycle could destabilize the blockchain within the next decade, setting off fears among investors already preparing for the next altcoin boom. Many in the market are now exploring emerging opportunities such as MAGACOIN FINANCE, which some see as a hedge against a possible deep Bitcoin correction. Bitcoin’s Shrinking Security Budget Bons highlighted that Bitcoin’s block rewards will drop to just 0.39 BTC per block by 2036. At today’s valuations, this equates to around $2.3 billion per year in miner incentives – a figure he claims is far too low to secure what could be a trillion-dollar network. Without sufficient funding, Bons warns that Bitcoin could become increasingly vulnerable to 51% attacks, where malicious actors gain control of the network to manipulate transactions. Governance Deadlock Raises Risks Another issue, according to Bons, is Bitcoin’s governance. Over the years, the Bitcoin Core development team has resisted major changes, including proposals for larger block sizes or inflation beyond the strict 21 million supply cap. While this rigidity has preserved Bitcoin’s scarcity narrative, Bons believes it could backfire. If future crises force changes, the risk of chain splits or inflationary measures could undermine trust in the system. Quantum Computing Looms Over Bitcoin The rise of quantum computing adds another layer of uncertainty. Bons noted that breakthroughs in the field could eventually crack Bitcoin’s cryptographic protections, especially in older wallets. Opinions differ on when this risk will become critical. Google’s Craig Gidney expects vulnerabilities between 2030 and 2035, while Blockstream’s Adam Back sees the threat as more than 20 years away. Others, including Naoris Protocol’s David Carvalho and investor Chamath Palihapitiya, caution that the…

U.S. Court Ends XRP Lawsuit as Ripple and SEC Drop Appeals

U.S. Court Ends XRP Lawsuit as Ripple and SEC Drop Appeals

The post U.S. Court Ends XRP Lawsuit as Ripple and SEC Drop Appeals appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. News The Appeals Court approved the joint dismissal, officially ending the XRP lawsuit. Ripple will pay the SEC $125 million in penalties, closing all pending matters. XRP surged over 8%, trading around $3.10 following the ruling. The decade-long legal battle between Ripple and the SEC has finally come to a close after the U.S. Court of Appeals granted their mutual application to drop both parties’ appeals. The ruling finally concludes the almost five-year case, with no additional filings needed. After the announcement, XRP pumped 8% and traded at about $3.10. Defense lawyer James Filan on X confirmed that the Second Circuit approved the dismissal, which Ripple and the SEC had previously filed. This formally closes the case, as both the regulator and Ripple abandoned their respective appeals. Earlier, the case was technically still pending since court approval was required for the dismissal. Last week, the SEC submitted a status report indicating the stipulation was pending. Today, with the approval secured, Ripple will proceed with addressing the financial penalty imposed by Judge Analisa Torres. Ripple will pay the SEC $125 million for violating the securities laws, though the company and regulator had previously settled on a lower figure of $50 million. Judge Torres would not approve that reduction during the trial, though. With the lawsuit no longer an issue, Ripple can move forward with its business, as XRP investors greeted the clarity with a strong price run-up. Experts Weigh Dollar Dominance And Trust Challenges

Experts Weigh Dollar Dominance And Trust Challenges

The post Experts Weigh Dollar Dominance And Trust Challenges appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. China appears to be weighing the launch of a yuan-backed stablecoin, with an initial rollout in Hong Kong and Shanghai, a surprising shift after years of cracking down on crypto while promoting its central bank digital currency, the digital yuan. In the latest episode of Byte-Sized Insight, Cointelegraph spoke with two leaders analyzing China’s potential move into stablecoins: Martin Chorzempa, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and Patrick Tan, CEO of blockchain intelligence firm ChainArgos.  China in the stablecoin race The news, first reported on Wednesday, highlighted Beijing’s ambitions to strengthen the yuan’s role in international finance. Still, experts say the path forward is anything but certain, especially with the track record of its central bank digital currency (CBDC), the digital yuan.  According to Chorzempa, the dominance of Alipay and WeChat Pay in everyday transactions has left little room for China’s CBDC experiment.  That leaves a yuan stablecoin with a different potential role. “I tend to think that probably the most interesting applications of a renminbi [yuan] stablecoin is going to be cross-border payments,” Chorzempa said.  “One of the most interesting things about having renminbi stablecoins floating around is, is this going to allow people to get money out in ways that they weren’t through the banks?” Related: China Merchants Bank subsidiary launches crypto exchange in Hong Kong Still, cross-border utility doesn’t erase the credibility gap between the yuan and the US dollar. Chorzempa said:  “China is famously anti-crypto… So the interesting thing with this stablecoin idea is: OK, you have something you call a stablecoin, it’s denominated in renminbi, but is it going to have all the same restrictions and surveillance and controls on it that the current forms of renminbi have?”  “And if the answer is yes,” he said, “it’s probably not going to be…

Japan Prepares Large Scale Amend of Crypto Policies

Japan Prepares Large Scale Amend of Crypto Policies

The post Japan Prepares Large Scale Amend of Crypto Policies appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) is preparing sweeping changes to its digital asset framework. The changes, which combine tax reforms and regulatory upgrades, could introduce exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tied to cryptocurrencies. The initiative signals Japan’s intent to integrate crypto into mainstream finance and attract broader investment. Tax Burden Under Review The reform package, reported domestically, includes two key parts. First, it consists of revising the tax code that would move crypto from comprehensive taxation to the same category as equities. Second, it includes a legal amendment reclassifying crypto as a financial product, enabling the FSA to apply insider-trading rules, disclosure standards, and investor protections under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. Currently, Japan taxes crypto gains as “miscellaneous income,” with progressive rates that can exceed 50 percent once local levies are included. Alternatively, equities and bonds are subject to a 20 percent flat tax. According to Nikkei, the FSA has proposed moving crypto into that 20 percent system in fiscal 2026. Investors would also be able to carry forward losses for three years. Officials believe parity with stocks will reduce investor burden and increase market activity. Regulatory Shift to Enable ETFs The FSA’s second pillar involves amending securities law to classify crypto as a financial product. This would clear the path for crypto ETFs, including spot Bitcoin funds, which remain unavailable in Japan. Observers argue ETFs could provide accessible, regulated options for investors while boosting market transparency. According to BeInCrypto, the agency also plans an internal restructuring, creating a bureau dedicated to digital finance and insurance. That reflects how crypto has become intertwined with broader financial systems, requiring consistent oversight. Japan’s history with crypto illustrates both risk and resilience. In 2014, Tokyo-based Mt. Gox once processed over 70 percent of global Bitcoin trades before collapsing. Regulators embedded lessons from that…

EuroBasket Gives Thunder Guard Nikola Topic Head Start On Rookie Season Comeback

EuroBasket Gives Thunder Guard Nikola Topic Head Start On Rookie Season Comeback

The post EuroBasket Gives Thunder Guard Nikola Topic Head Start On Rookie Season Comeback appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. BELGRADE, SERBIA – AUGUST 21: Nikola Topic (R) of Serbia in action against Alen Omic (L) of Slovenia during the International Basketball Friendly match between Serbia and Slovenia at Belgrade Arena on August 21, 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia. (Photo by Srdjan Stevanovic/Getty Images) Getty Images For Nikola Topic, EuroBasket 2025 isn’t just another international tournament. It’s a crucial step in reclaiming the rhythm and consistency he lost during his first year in the NBA. After being selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the lottery of the 2024 NBA Draft, he was sidelined the entire season due to a knee injury. As such, he won’t be making his true NBA debut or beginning his rookie season until the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. He’s still one of the youngest players in the league and has a bright future ahead of him, but the journey to reach his full potential will be easier said than done. While Topic was widely considered a top-five player in that class, the knee concerns and pre-existing injury allowed him to slide to OKC at No. 12 overall. That’s great for the Thunder, but integrating the now 19-year-old won’t be easy this season. Not only is Oklahoma City the reigning champion with a loaded roster, but it takes time and reps to get back to full form. As such, Topic needs as much on-court action as he can get. That experience and those reps have been plentiful this summer. Between a productive showing in NBA Summer League, and now the opportunity to represent Serbia on the EuroBasket stage, Topic is finally getting the kind of competitive reps he’s been missing. These experiences not only allow him to test himself against high-level talent, but they also accelerate his transition into the league by sharpening his feel, conditioning, and confidence.…
