TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” Los Angeles concert, Day 1

K-pop starlets TWICE know their star power.

While the group sold out their Los Angeles show at Sofi Stadium in 2023, they opted for a smaller, intimate setting with two concerts at the Kia Forum in Inglewood for their 2026 THIS IS FOR World Tour. After the two LA dates sold out within hours, they announced two more, bringing the total to four concerts in January 2026.

Not only did the nonet – comprised of members Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu – plan the smaller venue, but they also opted for a 360-degree stage, allowing fans to view them from every angle.

On Wednesday night, the first of four concerts, the venue and staging proved successful, as the girls utilized the 360-degree S-shape staging perfectly, giving every angle a chance to experience their acts. While there were some technical difficulties and syncing issues, they didn’t affect the girls’ overall performances and energy, which grew stronger throughout the set.

As the concert began, the lights dimmed, with the words “TWICE THIS IS FOR” appearing on the box screen above. It began to lower, showing the opening concepts featuring each member. As the video ends, the girls are revealed to be behind the box. With TWICE’s lightsticks, known as Candybong, flooding the stadium, it began flashing blue, changing to their signature apricot and neon magenta colors.

NAYEON, TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” Los Angeles concert, Day 1

TWICE began their performance with the title song, “This is For,” from their album of the same name, dressed in blue-and-white nautical outfits, each styled to fit each member’s personal taste.

With the exception of Dahyun, who remained seated due to an ankle injury, in the corner of the stage, TWICE took center stage, going through their choreographed routines for “This is For” and “Strategy,” switching sides throughout the songs. The platform began to rise, dimmed in red lights, as they began “MAKE ME GO.” Their male backup dancers, dressed in black outfits to contrast the girls’ white attire, gave the performance a fuller feel.

At the beginning of the first act, a few of the girls appeared a bit listless (which made sense, as they’ve just traveled from Oakland a few days prior), but as they began the routine for “SET ME FREE,” something seemed to spark in them. They went towards the next staging area, which caused that section to scream even louder. As the girls began their routine, groups of fans followed in the choreography alongside them. It seemed to shift the energy in the room, moving things forward.

There were times when the backtrack became louder than the artists’ voices, causing Nayeon and Jihyo belt louder through “SET ME FREE” and “I CAN’T STOP ME.” Jihyo’s natural vocals could be heard from the 100s. There was a point, while adjusting the mic and earpiece, when she looked visibly frustrated with the sound disparity.

During “I CAN’T STOP ME,” Jeongyeon hyped up the room even more, yelling out to the crowd, “Let’s sing it together!”

The entire routine of the song lifted both the audience and the members, setting the mood for the rest of the concert. Also, Dahyun wasn’t just sitting and singing her parts; she did the hand routines as if it were muscle memory.

They welcomed the audience with their signature greeting, “One in a million! Hello, we are TWICE!” The crowd roared as each member introduced themselves individually, starting with leader Jihyo, then Tzuyu, Jeongyeon, Momo, Nayeon, Chaeyoung, Dahyun, Sana, and Mina. Jihyo then told the audience to repeat “This is for TWICE,” after the group says, “This is for ONCE” (the name for their fans), which the audience does throughout the concert.

They continued the act with the mellow song, “Options,” seated on the elevated stages. This was the opportunity for the girls to showcase their vocals without the theatrics. They ended on “Moonlight Sunrise,” which highlighted Jihyo, Tzuyu, and Nayeon’s powerful, crisp vocals.

In between acts, there was a dance intermission featuring background dancers, including a solo female dancer performing a contemporary piece, before the stage opened to a full dance performance. The stage screens began playing a video traveling through galaxies, eventually landing on one planet, which is the same name as their song, “MARS.”

Dressed in brown leather outfits, filled with frills, fur, and suede, the girls gave off a more Western pirate feel to their look, performing “MARS,” with galaxy lights all around them. As the stage evened out, they all spread out throughout all the stages to perform “I GOT YOU.” All of the girls gave their all throughout each part.

With “The Feels,” the girls stayed in the center, performing with their demin-clad dancers. All of the girls shone through the song, but it was hard not to focus on Chaeyoung during this performance.

Jihyo, TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” Los Angeles concert, Day 1

Jihyo commented on how loud the fans’ screams were and said she had trouble hearing her earpiece, but she loved their energy. Dahyun began hyping the top floors, prompting the 100s and 200s sections to scream; the crowd then began to bark. Jihyo warned the crowd that the next set is “hot, cool, and amazing,” and for the fans to keep their energy up!

The lights went black, with a pink light hitting the center stage at Jihyo alone as “Gone” began to play. She begins walking towards one of the side stages, where the other members are. This performance was electrifying, with everyone giving it their all vocally and with the choreography. They followed that with “CRY FOR ME,” which had them move center stage, with “HELL IN HEAVEN” and “Right Hand Girl.”

Chaeyoung, TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” Los Angeles concert, Day 1

Their second intermission included their rock band jamming out with fireworks and fire imagery on the screens. Following that, there were shortened solo performances that highlighted the members’ solo songs from the album: Tzuyu’s “DIVE IN,” Mina’s “STONE COLD,” Nayeon’s “MEEEEEE,” Jeonyeon’s “FIX A DRINK,” Dahyun’s “CHESS,” Chaeyoung’s “SHOOT (Firecracker),” Jihyo’s “ATM,” Sana’s “DECAFFINATED,” and Momo’s “MOVE LIKE THAT.” Each member gave their all, giving a rousing performance that ranged from sweet and cute to jaw-droppingly sexy.

The act ended on TWICE’s version of “TAKEDOWN” from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, which featured Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung. Though all the songs were crowd-pleasers, this performance had the audience standing and singing along, prompting one fan to scream, “The Honmoon is sealed!” – a reference in the film – after it was over.

After the final intermission, the girls began their fourth act with their classic and fan-favorite tracks “FANCY,” “What is Love?,” “YES or YES,” “Dance the Night Away,” and ended with “ONE SPARK” – all sporting a variety of denim/cargo outfits.

The girls seemed to be having a great time during these performances, interacting with fans by reacting to their costumes and signs, and creating a Candybong wave. There was even a group of fans dressed as Huntri/X from the Netflix movie that the members noticed, and they approved. They asked the person wearing a light-up LED man to dance for them, too.

During their encore, now dressed in their merchandise, the girls began with “Feel Special” and interacted with their fans even more, with several of them blessing the audience with water from their water bottles. The group then asked the audience to choose a song, and based on their cheers, the girls would perform it. The crowd chose “Talk that Talk,” which ended the show. It ended on a high note, with every member engaging with their fans. As confetti filled the room, the girls gave their final thanks and good-byes, with their dancers and band.

Momo, TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” Los Angeles concert, Day 1

JYP ENTERTAINMENT // ANDY KEILEN

Throughout the concert, there were technical difficulties with the sound, making the music louder than the microphone. Yet, it didn’t stop the girls from performing their best. Even through Momo’s solo set, when it was difficult to hear her vocals, her performance was so mesmerizing that it didn’t really matter. She commanded that stage – mic on or not. Though all nine gave strong performances, vocalists Jihyo and Nayeon consistently stood out throughout the show, belting their parts as though their lives depended on it.

After celebrating their 10th anniversary as a group in October, TWICE really doesn’t have anything to prove in terms of their compelling performances. They’ve always been solid performers and musically talented superstars. Their concert at the Kia Forum is just added proof of that.

Unleash Potential: Flare Network’s FXRP Revolutionizes DeFi Access for XRP

BitcoinWorld Unleash Potential: Flare Network’s FXRP Revolutionizes DeFi Access for XRP The world of decentralized finance (DeFi) is constantly evolving, and a major new development is set to excite XRP enthusiasts. Flare Network has just launched FXRP, an innovative solution designed to bring XRP directly into the heart of DeFi applications. This move opens up a wealth of new possibilities for XRP holders, allowing them to engage with lending, borrowing, and trading platforms like never before. It’s a significant step towards a more interconnected crypto ecosystem. What is FXRP and Why is it a Game-Changer for XRP? At its core, FXRP is an over-collateralized, wrapped version of XRP. Think of it as a digital twin of XRP, but one that lives on the Flare Network. This design is crucial because XRP itself doesn’t natively support smart contracts in the same way that Ethereum or other DeFi-centric blockchains do. Consequently, XRP has largely been excluded from the burgeoning DeFi sector. However, FXRP changes this narrative completely. By wrapping XRP, Flare Network creates a token that can interact with smart contracts on its own blockchain. This means XRP holders can now: Access a wider range of DeFi protocols. Participate in decentralized lending and borrowing. Engage in yield farming opportunities. Trade their XRP on decentralized exchanges. This initiative transforms XRP from a primarily transactional asset into a more versatile, programmable one within the DeFi landscape. How Can You Acquire and Utilize FXRP? Getting your hands on FXRP is straightforward, offering flexibility for users. You have two primary methods to acquire this wrapped token. First, users can mint FXRP directly on the Flare Network. This process typically involves locking up an equivalent amount of XRP as collateral, ensuring the wrapped token remains fully backed. Alternatively, if direct minting isn’t your preference, you can acquire FXRP on various decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Platforms like SparkDEX, BlazeSwap, and Enosys are among the initial venues where you can trade for FXRP. This accessibility makes it easy for existing DeFi users and new participants alike to join the Flare Network ecosystem and explore its offerings. The over-collateralization aspect adds an extra layer of security, providing confidence in the token’s backing. Expanding DeFi Horizons: The Broader Impact of FXRP The introduction of FXRP extends far beyond just enabling XRP holders to participate in DeFi. It has a much broader impact on the entire decentralized finance ecosystem. By integrating a widely adopted asset like XRP, Flare Network significantly boosts the total value locked (TVL) and liquidity available within DeFi. This influx of capital and users can lead to more robust and efficient markets. Moreover, FXRP positions Flare Network as a vital bridge between different blockchain ecosystems. It demonstrates how assets from one chain can gain new functionality and utility on another, fostering greater interoperability. This cross-chain capability is essential for the long-term growth and sustainability of decentralized finance, as it breaks down silos and encourages a more unified digital economy. The potential for future integrations with other tokens and protocols is immense, further solidifying Flare’s role. Navigating the Challenges and Future of FXRP While the launch of FXRP presents exciting opportunities, it’s also important to consider potential challenges. As with any new technology in the crypto space, security remains a paramount concern. The integrity of the wrapping mechanism and the underlying smart contracts must be rigorously maintained. Furthermore, user adoption and education will be key to the success of FXRP. New users need clear guidance on how to safely mint, acquire, and use the token in various DeFi applications. The competitive landscape also plays a role; other wrapped assets exist, and FXRP must demonstrate its unique value proposition. However, with its strong backing and the innovative approach of Flare Network, FXRP is well-positioned for growth. Its ability to unlock XRP’s potential for DeFi is a powerful differentiator, promising a vibrant future for both the token and the network. Actionable Insights: Getting Started with FXRP in DeFi If you’re an XRP holder looking to explore the new opportunities presented by FXRP, here are some actionable insights to help you get started: Do Your Research: Before engaging with any DeFi platform, thoroughly research its reputation, security audits, and user reviews. Understand how FXRP interacts with specific protocols. Understand the Risks: DeFi carries inherent risks, including smart contract vulnerabilities, impermanent loss, and market volatility. Familiarize yourself with these risks before committing funds. Start Small: Consider starting with a small amount of FXRP to familiarize yourself with the process of minting, acquiring, and using it in DeFi applications. Stay Informed: Follow official Flare Network channels and reputable crypto news sources to stay updated on new integrations, security announcements, and community developments related to FXRP. By taking these steps, you can confidently navigate the exciting new world that FXRP opens up for XRP within decentralized finance. In conclusion, the launch of FXRP by Flare Network is a monumental step forward for the XRP community and the broader DeFi ecosystem. It effectively bridges a gap, allowing one of the most widely held cryptocurrencies to participate actively in decentralized finance. This innovation not only expands the utility of XRP but also reinforces Flare Network’s commitment to building a more interconnected and functional blockchain world. As FXRP gains traction, we can expect to see a surge in innovative DeFi applications and a more vibrant, inclusive financial landscape for all. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Q1: What exactly is FXRP?
