KuCoin 2025 Annual Review Highlights Trust, Compliance, and Security-First Growth

  • The firm moved from a period that was characterized by resilience into a new era that was characterized by trust, regulatory alignment, and institutional maturity.
  • KuCoin maintained a consistent level of operational performance for the whole of 2025, despite the shifting dynamics of the market environment.

It was today that KuCoin released its 2025 Annual Review, which was titled “A Renewed Brand. A Year Built on Trust.” A year that was significant in the development of the firm is highlighted in the report. This year was defined by a clear strategic emphasis on compliance, security, and the long-term viability of the platform.

The year 2025 was a time of significant transformation for KuCoin. The firm moved from a period that was characterized by resilience into a new era that was characterized by trust, regulatory alignment, and institutional maturity. This shift was guided by the company’s aim to develop a trusted blockchain infrastructure that facilitates the secure and transparent transfer of value. KuCoin has adjusted its platform and brand strategy to reflect a stronger commitment to protecting user assets and functioning within shifting regulatory frameworks. This was done as the company continued to service a large user base throughout the globe. The introduction of a Trust Project with a valuation of USD $2 billion, the fulfillment of four globally recognized security certifications, and the completion of key compliance efforts in Europe and Australia were all important milestones that laid the groundwork for the next stage of growth for KuCoin.

KuCoin maintained a consistent level of operational performance for the whole of 2025, despite the shifting dynamics of the market environment. When compared to the average daily spot trading volume of $4.76 billion, which represents a rise of 55% year-on-year, the average daily futures trading volume of $6.47 billion, which represents an increase of nearly 30% year-on-year, places KuCoin in fourth place worldwide in terms of futures volume. These findings demonstrated that a well-rounded strategy that prioritized liquidity, risk management, and platform stability was implemented. Due to the fact that KuCoin’s operational development in 2025 was purposefully based in security, transparency, and risk discipline, these objectives were accomplished without sacrificing KuCoin’s long-term aims.

In the year 2025, security continued to be a primary strategic focus. The fact that KuCoin was able to get the “Quadruple Crown” of security certifications, which includes SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and CCSS, demonstrates the company’s dedication to providing institutional-grade protections. Additionally, the platform has maintained Proof of Reserves verification for a period of 36 continuous months, which was independently audited by Hacken. Additionally, it was named number one internationally for security by CER.live, which highlights the firm’s focus on openness and accountability. Among the most important aspects of these efforts was the introduction of KuCoin’s Trust Project, which was aimed to increase asset protection, risk management, and long-term operational resilience. The project was valued at USD $2 billion. KuCoin has continued to improve regulatory alignment as a parallel pillar of platform trust, in addition to the technological precautions that it has implemented.

Throughout the course of the year, KuCoin achieved considerable progress in regards to regulatory harmonization across a number of different jurisdictions. By obtaining AUSTRAC registration and establishing a dedicated local office in Sydney, the firm was able to establish its presence in Australia. Through KuCoin EU, KuCoin was able to get a MiCA license in Europe, which made it possible for the cryptocurrency to operate under the unified regulatory framework of the European Union. In Turkey, the firm complied with the requirements of the local regulatory body by submitting an official application to the Capital Markets Board (SPK). KuCoin’s approach to product development was also driven by this regulatory and security underpinning, which ensured that innovation developed within a framework of accountability and long-term sustainability to ensure that KuCoin was able to develop its products.

Innovations at the infrastructural level and enhancements to the user experience were the primary focuses of product development in the year 2025. GemPool, HODLer Airdrops, and Spotlight are examples of KuCoin’s enhanced participation products. These solutions encourage user involvement by providing structured protection measures.

The introduction of KuCoin Feed, an AI-powered market information center, and KIA, KuCoin’s crypto-native AI assistant, both contributed to the platform’s advancement of artificial intelligence capabilities, which became an increasingly crucial component of the platform. Upgrades to the user experience, such as KuCoin App 4.0 and KuCoin Lite, struck a balance between enhanced usability and more extensive capabilities. The combination of KuMining and KuPool also contributed to the expansion of the mining ecosystem, which resulted in the achievement of a top-four worldwide ranking in terms of the amount of LTC/DOGE hashrate.

Reflecting on the year, BC Wong, CEO of KuCoin, said:

KuCoin has indicated that it would continue to maintain its emphasis on rigorous execution, regulatory alignment, and technology-driven trust as the cryptocurrency sector continues to undergo transformation. The year 2025 is something that the corporation considers to be a fundamental year, as it will lay the groundwork for consistent and long-term growth in the years to come.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…

This information comes from a new joint report on the state of the RWA market published on Sept. 17 by blockchain analytics firm Dune and data platform RWA.xyz. The focus on RWAs is intensifying across the industry, coinciding with events like the ongoing Real-World Asset Summit in New York. Sandeep Nailwal, CEO of the Polygon Foundation, highlighted the findings via a post on X, noting that the TVL is spread across 269 assets and 2,900 holders on the Polygon PoS chain.
