For fans hoping The Summer I Turned Pretty’s upcoming movie would be their Christmas present this year, there’s some disappointing news. Jenny Han, creator of Prime Video’s hit adaptation and author of the beloved romance trilogy, recently offered an honest update on where the film stands.

At The Wrap’s 2025 Power Women Summit, Han confirmed that she has completed the movie script for the film sequel, but clarified that production has not yet begun. “I just wrote it,” she said, noting that they have “not filmed anything yet.”

Han acknowledged fans’ hopes for a holiday release, particularly after the Season 3 finale’s post-credit scenes featured a Christmas-themed montage of Belly and Conrad in Paris set to “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Darlene Love.

“I know that everyone was hoping that it was coming out this Christmas,” she said. “But unfortunately, not happening, not possible.”

Forbes‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Movie Announced After Season 3 Finale—Here’s What To Know

The main reason a Christmas debut was never realistic is that post-production on Season 3 wrapped only a month before its July premiere on Prime Video, leaving virtually no time to transition directly into filming the feature.

“The show came out in July… So it was really up to the last minute on the show, so that we wouldn’t have had time to film the whole movie,” she explained.

As of December 2025, few official details about the film have been released. When the project was first announced — shortly after the Season 3 finale, where Belly declared her love for Conrad and officially chose him over Jeremiah (read my full finale breakdown here) — Han teased that the story would revolve around a major milestone in Belly’s life.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” she said at the Paris red-carpet event celebrating the finale in September, according to Deadline. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

The exciting film announcement followed a heartfelt message Han left for viewers at the end of Season 3, Episode 11, hinting that Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah and Cousins may not be gone for good. After all, the season ended without a wedding for Belly and Conrad.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you’ve shown The Summer I Turned Pretty all these years,” the note read. “Whether you’ve been with Belly since the very first book or joined us with the show, I’m so grateful you’ve made Belly’s story part of your summers.”

She added, “We put our whole hearts into this show, and we’re so thankful to you for coming along with us on the ride. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins. Until then – All of my love always, Jenny.”

The release date for The Summer I Turned Pretty now largely hinges on when production and filming begin. If production gets underway in early 2026, a late-2026 debut on Prime Video is possible, though early 2027 is more realistic. It’s also unclear whether the film will receive a limited theatrical run or arrive on Prime Video first.

The post Starbucks Workers United union holds NYC rally during strike appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. NEW YORK — Starbucks Workers United held a rally outside the Empire State Building on Thursday as its open-ended strike entered its third week and no signs of an impending resolution. Adding to the crunch of holiday shoppers and tourists, several hundred picketers gathered outside of the famous landmark, which is also the site of a swanky three-floor Starbucks Reserve location and the company’s regional headquarters. Members of other unions, like the AFL-CIO and Service Employees International Union, which is affiliated with Workers United, protested alongside baristas, chanting “No coffee, no contract” and “What’s disgusting? Union busting” between speakers. “Their fight is a fight really for all of us, to workers across the country, to corporations like Starbucks, across the country that workers are fed up with the status quo, and they’re not going to take it anymore,” SEIU President April Verrett told CNBC. Twelve demonstrators were arrested for blocking the building’s entrance. Baristas launched the strike on Starbucks Red Cup Day last month, seeking new proposals from the company that address its top issues to finalize a contract. Those include improved hours, higher wages and the resolution of hundreds of unfair labor practice charges levied against Starbucks. Out of the 145 locations involved in the strike, 55 remain closed, according to a company spokesperson. The two parties have not been in active negotiations to reach a contract after talks between them fell apart late last year. The strikes have not changed that fact so far. While the strike has injected uncertainty into Starbucks’ busy holiday season, the company has said its sales haven’t been affected. CEO Brian Niccol told employees that Red Cup Day was its strongest in history. A successful holiday season will be key to the chain’s turnaround under Niccol. Starbucks broke a nearly two-year streak of…
