Circle Puts USYC on BNB Chain as Developers Gain New Yield Tools

TLDR:

  • Circle brings USYC to BNB Chain, giving developers yield-accruing collateral in active DeFi markets.
  • USYC settles directly into USDC onchain, supporting predictable liquidity for automated strategies.
  • Developers can integrate USYC like a standard ERC-20 asset after completing Circle’s onboarding checks.
  • The token offers price-based yield with no staking or reward claims, easing operational complexity.

USYC has arrived on BNB Chain, giving developers a new way to use yield-accruing collateral inside familiar DeFi venues. Circle announced the rollout in a detailed update shared on its official channels.

The tokenized money market fund links directly with onchain USDC flows, allowing fast settlement for eligible users. Besides, the launch targets developers who want predictable yield without staking or complex reward systems.

USYC Integration Opens New Paths for Developers

Circle said USYC acts as a tokenized money market fund that increases in price as yield accrues. The structure lets users redeem to USDC onchain with near-instant settlement under normal conditions.

According to the announcement, developers can now treat USYC like any standard ERC-20 token when building on BNB Chain. This compatibility keeps integration simple for teams that already support USDC.

BNB Chain’s activity and deep liquidity make it a natural fit for USYC’s role as stable collateral. Circle highlighted that many builders lacked direct access to a TMMF that works within existing DeFi tools.

The rollout fills that gap by allowing USYC to operate inside markets without changing their underlying designs. Developers only need to enforce allowlisted wallet checks where required.

Circle outlined several practical use cases for the asset on BNB Chain. Lending markets can enable borrowing and lending with USYC while allowing lenders to earn daily yield.

Perpetual futures venues can accept USYC as margin, giving traders yield on posted collateral. Yield vaults can also integrate the token, building strategies around its steady price appreciation.

The token’s design removes the need for staking or reward claims, which simplifies how protocols manage user positions. Circle noted that redemption and subscription flows settle in USDC at any time, giving DeFi systems predictable liquidity.

That reliability helps liquidation bots and automated vaults respond cleanly to market changes. It also supports structure products that rely on stable collateral movements.

Straightforward Onboarding for Eligible Users

Circle said onboarding begins with reviewing eligibility requirements and completing KYC and AML checks. After that process, developers request access and plug USYC into their systems like any BEP-20 compatible asset.

The company provides code samples to test subscription and redemption flows during development. These flows allow institutions to move between USYC and USDC as part of their daily operations.

The launch positions USYC as a programmable yield instrument on one of the busiest smart-contract networks. Its integration aims to blend traditional fund mechanics with real-time digital markets.

Circle’s announcement shows continued interest in bringing regulated financial tools into open DeFi systems. The company expects developers to expand USYC’s utility as more venues adopt permissioned workflows.

UK FCA Plans to Waive Some Rules for Crypto Companies: FT

The post UK FCA Plans to Waive Some Rules for Crypto Companies: FT appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has plans to waive some of its rules for cryptocurrency companies, according to a Financial Times (FT) report on Wednesday. However, in another areas the FCA intends to tighten the rules where they pertain to industry-specific risks, such as cyber attacks. The financial watchdog wishes to adapt its existing rules for financial service companies to the unique nature of cryptoassets, the FT reported, citing a consultation paper published Wednesday. “You have to recognize that some of these things are very different,” David Geale, the FCA’s executive director for payments and digital finance, said in an interview, according to the report, adding that a “lift and drop” of existing traditional finance rules would not be effective with crypto. One such area that may be handled differently is the stipulation that a firm “must conduct its business with integrity” and “pay due regard to the interest of its customers and treat them fairly.” Crypto companies would be given less strict requirements than banks or investment platforms on rules concerning senior managers, systems and controls, as cryptocurrency firms “do not typically pose the same level of systemic risk,” the FCA said. Firms would also not have to offer customers a cooling off period due to the voltatile nature of crypto prices, nor would technology be classed as an outsourcing arrangement requiring extra risk management. This is because blockchain technology is often permissionless, meaning anyone can participate without the input of an intermediary. Other areas of crypto regulation remain undecided. The FCA has plans to fully integrate cryptocurrency into its regulatory framework from 2026.
