SuperCloud Energy, a clean energy company specializing in scalable power solutions, and p-Chip Corporation have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to integrate p-Chip’s micro-transponder identity technology into SuperCloud’s U.S.-manufactured battery and energy storage systems. The partnership, announced June 25, 2026, aims to establish a durable physical root of trust for batteries, starting with traceability and serialization across SuperCloud’s Green Power on Demand (GPOD) platform and eventually supporting full-lifecycle identity and compliance with emerging EU Battery Passport standards.

The collaboration addresses a critical challenge in battery manufacturing: ensuring that physical identifiers, such as labels or QR codes, remain intact and secure throughout a battery’s lifecycle. Conventional labels can wear off or be tampered with, while standard RFID antennas may fail in harsh battery environments. p-Chip’s light-activated micro-transponder offers a hardware-unique, read-only silicon identity that cannot be copied, edited, or reapplied. The technology has demonstrated survivability under thermal cycling, electrolyte exposure, and extended charge/load cycling, making it suitable for energy storage applications.

Under the LOI, the companies will pursue a phased implementation. Initial efforts will focus on battery traceability across SuperCloud’s manufacturing, quality assurance, commissioning, and dispatch checkpoints. As value is proven, the partnership will expand to deeper integration into manufacturing workflows and ERP/quality systems, ultimately building a broader identity layer for lifecycle intelligence, sustainability assurance, and EU Battery Passport readiness. Each verified scan can be captured as an auditable event through Authium, p-Chip’s traceability software on SAP Business Technology Platform.

Jim Devericks, Founder, Chairman and CEO of SuperCloud Energy, emphasized the strategic importance of trusted battery identity. ‘SuperCloud is building more than batteries or power systems. We are building a globally deployable distributed energy infrastructure,’ he said. ‘To do that at scale, every battery must carry a trusted, permanent identity. p-Chip gives us a secure and unclonable foundation for battery traceability, strengthening quality assurance, lifecycle intelligence, and supply chain integrity across our GPOD platform. This not only supports access to global markets like the EU as Battery Passport standards emerge, but positions us ahead of future U.S. regulatory requirements.’

Joe Wagner, CEO and Co-Founder of p-Chip Corporation, noted that energy storage is a demanding environment for identity technology. ‘Our micro-transponders have demonstrated survivability under thermal, electrochemical, and charge/load stress, and this partnership brings that durable, unclonable identity to American-made batteries, from the moment they are manufactured through their entire lifecycle,’ he said.

The partnership has broader implications for the battery industry. As manufacturers face rising expectations for secure identity and lifecycle traceability, the durability of physical identifiers becomes a core requirement. A traceability record is only as trustworthy as the physical identifier it is anchored to, and p-Chip’s technology provides an unclonable foundation. For SuperCloud, this integration supports its mission to deliver zero-emission, off-grid energy solutions for data centers, EV infrastructure, remote communities, military operations, and disaster recovery.

The companies plan to advance the relationship through technical, operational, and commercial discussions, with the goal of scaling from initial traceability to full Battery Passport readiness. The LOI is non-binding, and any resulting partnership is subject to definitive agreements.
