Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner marks a notable departure from recent years, as President Donald Trump was expected to attend, and perhaps the world's most famous mentalist will be hosting.

The dinner kicks off at 8 p.m. ET, with C-SPAN's red carpet coverage beginning at 6 p.m.

C-SPAN is carrying the event live and free at cspan.org. It's also available on the C-SPAN app. For those who miss the live broadcast, C-SPAN typically uploads individual speeches to YouTube the following morning.

Oz Pearlman, a mentalist and mind-reader known for appearances on "America's Got Talent" and performances for celebrities and former President Barack Obama, told Raw Story opinion writer John Casey that he has spent years thinking about what he would do with a moment near Trump. Tonight, he'll find out in front of the entire Washington press corps.

The president is offered a traditional 15-minute speaking slot at the event. Pearlman's set runs approximately 25 minutes.

Trump last attended the dinner as a private citizen in 2011, when Obama was president and comedian Seth Meyers roasted him from the podium. Tonight marks his first appearance at the event since returning to office.
