The Philippines climbed three spots to 41st out of 150 countries with a global presence value of 58.13 in the latest Elcano Global Presence Index by Madrid-based think tank Elcano Royal Institute. Despite its higher overall rank, the country was among the region’s laggards as it was placed the sixth lowest in East and Southeast Asia. The index, which used 2025 data, assesses a country’s international relations, foreign policy and global affairs, based on economy, defense, and soft presence.
